After a week of slow responses back and forth on Hinge, Sarah and Alex met for their first date on a Sunday afternoon in October of 2020. In the midst of a pandemic, they met in San Francisco for a social distance walk through the Marina. Their first date quickly escalated from a walk, to drinks, to watching a Seahawks game with Alex's then roommates. Even after an 8 hour first date, they did not want the date to end. Sarah and Alex both knew they had found their person that day.

Sarah and Alex spent the next year exploring San Francisco together. They attended concerts (shout out Justin Bieber), ate at all of their favorite restaurants and watched plenty of reality TV. They also went on many trips together including the coveted Batali Annual Priest Lake weekend, Sarah’s mom’s beautiful farm in New Jersey, and a few weddings across the country. It was during this year that Alex and Sarah took a weekend trip to Monterey, where Alex told Sarah he loved her for the first time (as she was mid bite of a cheeseburger).

After a year of creating memories in San Francisco, they packed their bags and moved to Bellevue Washington. Bellevue has proven to be the perfect place to plant their roots and start a family one day.

On June 24th, 2023 Alex proposed to Sarah in Hawaii during what she thought was a getaway for her birthday. The most obvious answer of her life-yes! Sarah's best friend (and one of her maid of honors!), Olivia, jumped out from the trees with her husband on the beach in Hawaii. Olivia body slammed Sarah into the sand with the biggest hug of all time. The four of them went to dinner and celebrated as they overlooked a Hawaiian sunset and recounted how Alex pulled off the proposal of Sarah's dreams.

Since the proposal, Sarah and Alex have been counting down the (too many) days until their wedding. They are so excited to see all of their loved one’s faces out in the crowd during the ceremony. They can not wait to start the journey of marriage with their closest friends and family by their side on April 5th.
